Game Day

Happy Monday, friends! I hope that you enjoyed your weekend. The weather here was perfect! It was chilly in the morning but warm enough for short sleeves in the afternoon. We let Ryder skip his nap to watch the football game and then we took him to play some football. He loved it! And even though our team lost, we had so much fun.

And no game day is complete without homemade chili. I shared our chili recipe here but I wanted to share with you my homemade Chili Seasoning. It takes minutes to make, lasts for five pots of chili, and costs about thirty cents per tablespoon (equal to one packet)! You can adjust it to make it as spicy as you like. Ryder eats it with us so I normally keep it more on the mild side.

Homemade Chili Seasoning
4 tbsp chili powder
2 tbsp. flour
2 tbsp. ground cumin
1 tbsp. garlic powder
1 tbsp. onion powder
1 tbsp. granulated sugar
2 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
1 tsp. cayenne pepper
1 tsp. dried oregano
1 tsp. dried parsley

Mix together and store in airtight container.
* two tablespoons = one packet
