Two Hundred Acres

Yesterday we spent the day with my parents, aunt and cousin at our favorite pumpkin patch and surrounded by all things Amish. I had been going there since I was a young girl and I knew that I wanted to make it a tradition with our children. We started off the morning at The Great Pumpkin Patch in Arthur, IL. This patch is amazing! They have a pick-your-own pumpkin patch that is 200 acres big! They actually have signs and maps to help you get around it. They also have corn mazes, hay rides, all kinds of displays, yummy treats, and any pumpkin, squash, or gourd that you could want. We were seriously in fall heaven!

We then headed to a nearby town and ate at an Amish buffet. Whoever came up with that idea was a genius. After we were stuffed we spent the afternoon walking around the outlet mall while Ryder napped. Before heading home we stopped by an old fashion soda fountain for homemade ice cream and then an awesome Amish bulk food store. We definitely came home with a car full of goodies.

If you follow me on Instagram you've already seen that he got his haircut this weekend. What do y'all think of it? I'm still getting use to it...you've also probably seen this post.

Ryder has had what we thought was bad allergies for the past couple days. We put him to bed last night around 8:30 and at 10:30 he woke up gasping for air. We rushed him to the hospital and they diagnosed him with Croup. After some medicine and a couple breathing treatments (and a lot of screams and tears) we had to stay for 3 hours so that they could monitor his breathing and coughing. Luckily the medicines began to work and he fell asleep about an hour before we were released. We finally got home around 5 this morning and started our day only a few hours later. He has medicine and breathing treatments to continue for the week and is not feeling 100%, but he sounds so much better already!
