Ryder At Six Months

I feel that life goes smoother with a schedule. Especially for children. They know what is coming next & what is expected of them. Ryder still pushes our schedule all over the place, but for the most part we have a pretty set schedule everyday. Although teething & a recent growth spurt have caused Ryder to think that 4 AM is the best time to throw a party...no son. That's not how this works.

We do go out & do different things on different days during the week. I try to keep the schedule even when we are out & about. It seems to work fairly well. For example, on Mondays & Tuesdays we usually go walking early in the morning. This is always subject to change due to the recently polar vortex weather or illnesses (which thankfully are finally gone!). Since winter is still upon us we have been going to our local mall to walk. They open 1 1/2 hours early for walkers. So we do our laps early in the mornings here until it warms up & the endless amounts of snow melt.

Here is a basic layout of Ryder's schedule:
6:00 AM - Good morning!
Ryder gets a 6 oz bottle & we watch cartoons & play with daddy.
7:30 AM - cat nap
He usually only sleeps for 30 mins.
8:00 AM - breakfast
Typically it is 1 oz of oatmeal & 1 oz of fruit.
(With a sprinkle of cinnamon) :)
10:00 AM - 6 oz bottle
10:30 AM - naptime
Ryder will normally sleep for 1 1/2 to 2 hours for this nap.
12:00 PM - playtime!
I switch out boxes of toys weekly. I also have a box of toys from Christmas that he is still growing into so I will pull out a new one each week or 2 weeks depending on how he is playing with the others.
2:00 PM - 6 oz bottle & naptime
Again he usually sleeps 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours. Sometimes 3 hours if we played rough :)
4:00 PM - playtime!
Some days we will do a fun sensory game such as play in water, move colored ice cubes in a bucket, whip cream art, art projects...
6:00 PM - dinner & 6 oz bottle
Ryder will usually eat 2 oz of food with us.
6:30 PM - catnap
Normal for 30 mins or I will wake him up after 1 hour.
7:30 PM - bath time
8:00 - bedtime

Our bedtime routine hasn't changed much since he was a newborn. After bath & jammies he gets an 6 oz bottle (doesn't always drink it all) & we lay him down. Most nights we rock him for a little bit to get him sleepy, but occasionally he will put himself to sleep. And I'm not complaining about having to rock him. He puts himself back to sleep at night when he wakes. With the exception of wanting to play at 4, which happens about once a week & usually on a Sunday night.
