Life Lately

Our weekend was thankfully a bit slower than usual. It consisted mostly of cleaning the house, playing with Ryder, visiting family, & just spending time together. It was a nice change since the rest of this month & next will be rather busy. It feels like Halloween takes forever to get here. And then the rest of the holidays just fly right by. It's not fair :)

Ryder started teething last week. It seems as though it has grown even worse over the past few days. He is drooling faster than I can keep him cleaned up & dry. I wish his hand-eye coordination was better because he needs & loves to chew on anything & everything, but he can't get anything in his mouth but his hands. Then he gags himself...and drools more. Then the drool causes him to gag since he's laying down & then he drools even more after gagging. See a pattern here?

He is now breaking out of swaddles about 30 minutes after we put him to sleep. I've tried to put him down without swaddling, but he hits himself frequently & then pulls his pacifier out of his mouth & starts chewing on his fists...which of course wakes him up. Most times he puts himself to sleep when we swaddle him. Because of this he will be moving to his own room & in his big crib soon.

Here is our weekend in snapshots.
Ryder loves to watch the fish at Nana & Papa's house.

Ryder wore his first pair of blue jeans! He wasn't a huge fan.

I am so happy that Ryder (even though he will not remember this) has both of his great-grandparents. My grandparents mean the world to me & I'm so glad that he has the chance to get to know them.
