Visiting The Fire Station

This week we have been working on the letter F here at home. We had been talking about words that begin with the letter F, such as, family, farm, and fire trucks. We decided that it would be a good time to bake some yummy treats and take them to our favorite fire station. We love visiting the fire station every year and getting a tour as well as spend some time getting to know some of the fire fighters. It's always good to get your children use to seeing the fire fighters and their trucks and equipment. This way they may not be as scared if an emergency should happen and they need help. Ryder is always nervous and a bit shy when we first get there. But once he warms up it is so hard to get him to leave.

The fire fighters at our station are absolutely amazing and go above and beyond to put kids first. They show us all of the rooms in the fire house, including the sleeping room, kitchen, equipment room, and of course the trucks. I had to actually throw Ryder into a truck to get him to warm up on this trip. But once he was in one, he had to get in them all.

And for fun, here is a flashback to our visit last year...
