It snowed yesterday and we weren't able to get out and play in it. It was still a little too cold and by the time we got a chance to go out it was getting dark. We are heading out to play in it this afternoon but I wanted to bring a snow activity in so that we could learn about snow and road safety. We had to drive on the snow covered roads yesterday morning and got stuck in very slow moving traffic. Ryder was very curious about the situation so we read The Little Snowplow and Thomas Gets A Snowplow before naptime. This morning we played with trains in the snow! Fake snow that is. I added a couple bags of cotton balls to our train track and we played for hours this morning!! We practiced going slow in deep "snow" and we also threw a few "snow" balls.
So simple and so much fun! Plus clean-up is a breeze. Who doesn't love snow that isn't cold and isn't wet?
