Seven Month Update & Favorites

Age: 7 months
Stats: 18 lbs & 28.5 inches
Schedule: Typically he has 2 long naps during the day with a short one in the morning after his first bottle.
Favorite foods: Peas & carrots combined, apples, & banana chunks.
Clothes: 6-12 & 9 months
Favorite things: He is very into balls right now. We have these balls & he will literally pick them up & roll them all day long. He is also sitting by himself in the tub now so bath time is a whole new level of fun!
Things he hates: Having his face & nose wiped. We have had a nasty virus sticking around the house for almost 2 weeks now. Ryder came down with it over the weekend & it has hit him hard. Having his nose wiped, suctioned, or even having saline drops put in in the mornings is torture.
Words he says: Always babbling & "ooooh"-ing. He has also started to bark at dogs. When he hears them barking or sees them he will say "woo woo woo" (thanks to my parent's dogs that never stop barking). He has also started to say something that sounds like this: "gaa gaaroo" Any ideas?
Milestones: He protests whenever I set him down & walk away. This is not a fun one, but is a big milestone. He understands distance now.
Memory for the baby book: The other day we were playing with his toys & he was chewing on one of the balls mentioned above. It rolled out of his hand & across the floor into the kitchen. He stared at it & once it was done rolling he let out a loud "oooooh" then a big dramatic sigh. Now if only he would crawl to get the ball himself ;)

Here is our top picks for 6 & 7 months.

Gap Pants - These are by far his most worn pants. They fit him perfectly & with the band on the bottom they stay put around his ankle. Plus they are so soft.
Avent Sippy Cup - We are trying to get Ryder use to sippy cups. So far this is the only one he seems to be accepting of. It fits on all Avent bottles which is a huge plus! He doesn't care too much for the handles so we don't use them. He only gets a sippy cup when we are eating & I fill it with water.
O Ball Stacker - Other than balls (& my cooking utensils) this is his go to toy.
B. Squeeze Blocks - Another favorite toy of his. These blocks are soft & easy for him to grasp. He loves to knock down towers or knock them down while you are building the towers.
Gap Socks - These are the only socks that stay on his feet. I love them!
Fisher-Price Seahorse - Ryder has to have this thing at bed time. We have traded out the turtle for this cute little guy because Ryder was throwing the turtle with it's hard shell across the crib. He can easily turn the seahorse on the play lullabies.
BRICA Bath Toy Organizer - It scoops, dries, & keeps all the bath toys in 1 place. What could be better??

I'll leave you with this little gem ;)

Let the St. Patrick's Day shenanigans begin!!
