We Weren't Festive But That's Okay

Yesterday was St. Patrick's Day. We started the morning off at 5:30 with an accident. Luckily not a single drop made it onto the sheets or blankets so we made a quick potty stop then put on new underwear and jammies and then snuggled back into bed for about an hour. For some reason it just wasn't enough. With the sunrise came bad moods all around. There were more tantrums and screaming matches before breakfast than ever before. It was a struggle to get out the door for our errands and the moods didn't end there. But at least we had our green on.

We came home after our errands and lunch with family and indulged in quiet time and nap time. While he slept, I finished laundry. I turned no music on, the tv was off, my phone turned to "do not disturb". All I heard was the laundry turning and the breeze coming in the open window. It was just what I needed to unwind. Thankfully, good moods returned after a good nap and we were able to enjoy the last few hours of daylight outside.

And although we didn't eat shamrock shaped foods, drink green milk, or enjoy a variety of rainbow activities, our St. Patrick's Day wasn't so bad. And so far this morning, we've accomplished nothing but cuddles on the couch and chocolate chip pancakes.

Happy Friday!
